Client - Adidas
World of football
Football is the most popular ball sport in the world. With fans covering every continent, its appeal continues to grow across culture, age, and gender. Special Agent supports Adidas in a wide range of football shoes, apparel, and accessories; from World Cup balls to Predator boots, and from goalkeeper gloves to futsal shoes, to name a few.
As with all Adidas innovation, the focus is always on delivering true, measurable, performance enhancement. For a ball this might be about combining more consistent aerodynamics with iconic panel shapes, for a football boot it could focus on delivering ultimate speed or ball feel.
Adidas and Special Agent collaborate to bring world leading sports science to life and create football products that bring joy to players across the globe.
360 Ball Control
Football is getting faster. Players are more athletic, pitches are smoother, balls are better engineered, and game data brings a new level of insight. In the modern game, players have fractions of a second to bring the ball under control - with so little time and space, every touch counts. Special Agent worked with Adidas to deliver a boot where the ‘Lethal Zones’ had properties perfectly matched for modern play.
Powerspine
Predator is an iconic football franchise, with a focus on controlling the game and scoring goals. The Predator X showcased the revolutionary Powerspine, created by Special Agent, it was designed to maximise power. Powerspine improved energy transfer from the foot to the ball, it was worn by the worlds leading players, and delivered a host of explosive goals.
Revolution in Ball Construction
The Jabulani football was the official match ball for the World Cup in South Africa. It paved the way for a new approach to ball manufacture, made from spherical panels rather than flat sheets. Special Agent worked with Adidas to define the unique panel shape and design. The more spherical form produced distinctive aerodynamics that were quite controversial, especially for teams that hadn't practised with the ball before the tournament.
